Whoever is in charge of their promotion needs to be fired!  Because they went on urban shows like 106 and DFX, but not TRL and the record wasn't released to pop type stations. I think I should be could've crossed over! But hey, I'm not dumb like the workers at that crappy place they call a label!  |

This is my opinion:
I think that Russell should either come back into the office or hire some ppl who actually care. I Mean it seems like to me that ever since Russell left Def Jam that it has gone downhill from there.
They don't promote any of their artist to there full potential. I mean what's really going on!
we as fans can only do so much, but if your label ain't trying to put you out there and get you seen, then ev erything we do is in vain. I also think that they should try to appeal to the pop fans, I mean they can do that without completing changing what they are about. I mean if Justin can hop from pop to r&b then why can't Dru Hill?

The record label cares about the money, not the artists.ESPECIALLY Def Soul. There's one exception and that's 112. They're getting more promotion than any other artist at Def Soul!
The only song from DWO that would do good in the pop market would be No Doubt. The pop market looks for catchy beats. Their other songs wouldn't get that far on the pop stations. Back in the day, yes but not anymore.

I agree! 112 is still connected to Bad Boy, that's why they are being promoted a little more.
They were planning to release No Doubt, but dumb Def Soul wanted them to release I Love You! Stupid move, even though I like the song.

Dru should DEFINITELY leave Def Soul. They're being tossed aside like that old tuna sandwich in the back of the fridge.  They signed a contact for 3 albums and I dunno if they count their first album since they bought out Island Black music.... If it doesn't count, they have 1 more album to do with def soul then they can leave that s***ty record label. |

Def SOul is promoting Musiq as well. I dont' know why they are doing that to Dru Hill. But I think Dru hill has something to do with it too They all are not sure if they want to come out with solo gigs 1st or the group. They can not agree on that. Sisqo wants to come out with his then some of the others are wanting that too.. so who knows what will happen. All i know is if they come out with solo stuff and it fails the group will fail because the public will look at that and not want to hear what the group does.. so they need to think about all that 1st!

Def Soul does promote Musiq but compared to everyone else on the label, 112 is getting the most promotion. Also, they have Bad boys doing promotion for them too. Dru isn't with 2 record labels.
I guess they did that because their new album sucked while for Dru and the other artists their albums are A LOT better.

But def soul's promotion in UK is nothing, I haven't heard anything about Dru Hill, 112, Musiq, and other defsoul artists in UK. Sisqo is the only artists that has had the professional UK promotion that he deserved, but that might have been thanks to Dragon Records. www.druhillzone.cjb.net |

Remember Def Soul said summer 2003, then it changed to 2004? WHO knows whem Jazz's solo album will come out?! Def soul will focus in North America first then they'll see how the single and album does worldwide THEN they'll set up tours, promotions etc... over in Europe, Asia. Usually if they feel that the artist is good overseas of course they'll try to get them to come there. I think that Sisqo likes it overseas because he probably gets more love and people buy the album more over there than in North America and well remixes are pretty cheap to make overseas.  |
