'Price Is Right' Announcer Roddy Dies Game-Show Legend Had CancerLOS ANGELES -- Rod Roddy, the flashy-dressed announcer on "The Price is Right," has died. He was believed to be 66.
Roddy suffered from colon and breast cancer and died Monday at a Los Angeles hospital.
Roddy had been hospitalized for two months.
His announcing stints included "Love Connection" and "Press Your Luck."
It was "The Price is Right" that earned him his greatest fame as his booming, jovial voice invited audience members to "Come on down!" for nearly 20 years.
CBS' "The Price is Right" remains one of television's most popular game shows.
Roddy was born Robert Ray Roddy on Sept. 18, 1937, in Fort Worth, Texas.
According to CBS, Roddy's birth year was 1936, which would make him 67.
Funeral plans weren't immediately announced. WRAL.comAwwwww, man! Here we go again. ::sniff sniff:: I enjoyed laughin' at his outfits wheneva I was able to catch "The Price Is Right" and he has a memorable voice. R.I.P.

His jackets were the ish! I was so shocked to hear that last night. I knew he was sick but I didn't think it was that bad. Awww...
