Williams of Destiny's Child Is New 'Aida'
NEW YORK - Broadway has found its new "Aida" to replace Toni Braxton — Michelle Williams of Destiny's Child. She will join the cast of the long-running Disney musical Nov. 18. Braxton departs Nov. 16 after a four-month run.
"Aida is a woman with such strength," Williams said Tuesday in a statement. "I love this character and can't wait to truly find her within myself."
The 23-year-old Williams joined Destiny's Child in 2000, singing with them on the group's third album, the best-selling "Survivor." The singer's solo debut album, the gospel-flavored "Heart to Yours," came out last year. A second solo recording, "Do You Know" will be released in January.
"Aida," the star-crossed story of a Nubian princess in love with an Egyptian soldier, opened at the Palace Theatre in March 2000. The musical, with a score by Elton John and Tim Rice, also stars Will Chase and Mandy Gonzalez.
Williams will appear in "Aida" for 10 weeks, ending her engagement Jan. 25. Yahoo News
Congratulations to Michelle! Hopefully, she will be appreciated even more without bein' in the shadows of DC because ol' girl really CAN sing!

I hope she does well, also! But they couldn't find any other talented person to replace Toni? (Not hatin or anything) But I know there are some starving up and coming actresses that need a job!
