.jpg) ALL EYES ON THE NEW IVERSON: Little brother's name honors big brother. *Little, itty, bitty Mister Allen Iverson is 2 weeks old. Yep, big blessings to his mother for bringing a beautiful baby boy into the world.
The child's first name is Mister and his mother, 44-year-old Ann Iverson, told the AP that she named him that for a reason. His middle name is Allen, after his big brother, NBA superstar, Allen Iverson.
"He's Mister, because, back in the day, when our people picked cotton and such, the men were always called by their last name. I didn't want that for him. Then I wanted his middle name to be after someone famous. Allen's famous."
Mister Allen Iverson, the Sixers star's little brother, was born Oct. 3 to Allen's mother, Ann. Allen's older son, Allen II, is 'Deuce.' Mister Allen has already been designated as 'Trey.'
Ann Iverson gave birth to twin boys Oct. 3. Only Mister Allen survived.
"God took one and gave me one," Ann Iverson said. "I'm blessed. I remember waking up, seeing my new son. God has been good to me."

I'm glad his mama named her baby after Allen, but "Mister"?? That baby will be scarred for life. I'm sorry that she lost one of the twins, though.

I'm glad his mama named her baby after Allen, but "Mister"?? That baby will be scarred for life. LOL--Ya know! Russ Parr and his crazy crew pretty much said the exact same thing this mornin'! ;D But when my momma and I were talkin' about it yesterday, we both immediately thought of Mista from "The Color Purple"! But I guess weird names must be the "in" thing nowadays. Juss ask Toni Braxton and Erykah Badu.  |
