Mary J Blige: I was Molested as a Child
Mary J Blige had a confused and promiscuous adolescence, after being sexually molested when she was just five years old.
The "My Life" singer says the incident severely dented her self-esteem and affected her well into her adult life.
The 32-year-old singer says, "The bad feelings I had about myself started when I was a child.
"I was molested when I was five. It really messed me up.
"It had a traumatic impact on how I related to men as an adult and how I felt about being touched.
"It made me confused about sex and that's why I ended up being promiscuous as a teenager.
"I'm not afraid to talk about it now because I think it's something women need to know. A lot of women have been molested and feel they are the only ones. But they're not alone."

I'm so proud that Mary has come forth with an extremely sensitive and personal part of her life. I can DEFINITELY relate to what she went through as far as this situation is concerned. I'm not ashamed to say that I was finally able to talk with my mother and sister about some similar things that I went through as a child as well recently and, hopefully, Mary will touch even more lives now that she has spoken out about this issue. Love ya, Mary!
