50 Cent Buys Tyson Mansion; Police Concerned
Police Worry About Rapper's Baggage
Police in Farmington, Conn., say they'd like to have a little sit-down with one of the town's newest residents - hit rapper 50 Cent.
50 Cent has bought a mansion in Farmington that used to belong to former heavyweight boxing champ Mike Tyson.
The rapper bought the place from Tyson's latest ex, Monica Turner Tyson.
But, police tell The Herald of New Britain they're concerned about the rapper's history.
For instance, he has been shot nine times. He's also been stabbed, and has a well-publicized beef with Ja Rule.
On top of that, there were the threats that came after the murder of Jam Master Jay of Run DMC last fall.
Farmington police captain James Rio said when they heard the house deal was going down, they started trying to track down 50 Cent's reps so they could "discuss any concerns."
Rio said he is concerned both for the rapper's safety "as well as the safety of the public."
50 Cent's new home has 48,000 square feet of space, 52 rooms, 25 full baths, 14 half baths.
Mike Tyson signed the house over to his ex for a dollar last year -- as part of their divorce settlement. 50 Cent didn't get a similar deal. Records at the town clerk's office say the house sold for $4.1 million.

I don't think the police are bein' fair in wantin' to question 50 on where he wants to live. Not that I'm condonin' anything he's done in his past or the present, but c'mon now...if they're gonna question him, they need to question his neighbors too. Only difference is they aren't as well known as he is, but there's a possibility that the residents may have done the same if not more dirt that 50 has done.
