JOHN RITTER SITCOM TO MOVE ON IN SOME FORM: So says New York Times. *The world is still in shock at the sudden death of everybody's favorite funnyman John Ritter.
Most of us remember him as Jack Tripper from the classic sitcom "Three's Company."
Producers of his currently series, "8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter," are trying to decide how to proceed after the lead's untimely demise.
The New York Times reports that ABC executives are keeping mum about the future of the program, other than to extend their condolences to the Ritter family.
After his collapse last week, the actor, 54, was taken to a hospital, where he died of a torn aorta. His long-standing heart condition reportedly had gone undiagnosed.
The course to take with the show will be decided after the passing of at least a week, one ABC executive tells The Times, saying that it is likely that "8 Simple Rules," which last season had an average weekly audience of 11 millions viewers, will continue in some form.
Ritter's friends and colleagues will pay tribute to him in an ABC News special tonight. "A Life of Laughter: Remembering John Ritter," an hour-long program anchored by Diane Sawyer, will air at 8pm Eastern/Pacific. EURweb.comWell on my way to work this mornin', I heard on Doug Banks' Show that the creators of "Eight Simple Rules..." are goin' to write his death into the script and make the wife the star of the show. Man, I'm still in shock over his death. But anyway, I plan to tape the special on him tonight.

Everytime I think about it it leaves me heartbroken in some way. I watched Entertainment Tonight over the weekend when they paid tribute to him and they showed the Q&A he and his wife did with each other and you could tell they were so much in love. That's when I found out he died on his daughter's 5th birthday, the day before his wife's birthday which was also their wedding anniversary and a week before his birthday...on September 11th. That alone brought me to be a little misty eyed for his little girl to have the memory that her daddy died on her birthday and a memorable day in history.
Hopefully the show will go on and stay true to his memory.

And it's kina weird he died in the same hospital he was BORN in, man that just shows that it was just his time, he's in a better place now anyways. But what exactly happened? I heard he got sick on the set and then they took him to the hospital, was it just surgical complications?

But what exactly happened? I heard he got sick on the set and then they took him to the hospital, was it just surgical complications? He had an aortic dissection. If you're not familiar with that, basically what happens is the force of blood flow causes a tear in the wall of the aorta (which is weakend for some reason). Once the tear occurs, the force of the heart pumping the blood forces blood through the tear, inbetween the layers of the aorta, tearing the artery apart. If you're not treated in the hospital (they lower your blood pressue to stop the force of the heart pumping) a/o have surgery, blood supply to organs gets cut off or you bleed to death internally. And sometimes it's impossible to catch in time.
