Actor John Ritter Dead At 54

LOS ANGELES -- Actor John Ritter died of a heart complication overnight Thursday.

Ritter is most well known for his role as Jack Tripper in the '70s hit "Three's Company," but recently had found renewed success with the ABC sitcom "Eight Simple Rules ... For Dating My Teenage Daughter." The show was just beginning a second season.

He also appeared in more than 25 television movies.

Ritter's longtime assistant Susan Wilcox said he fell ill on the set of his new show Thursday. His publicist said he had a flaw in his heart that went unrecognized.

I can't put into words how shocked and then upset I was to hear that John Ritter AKA Jack Tripper passed away early this mornin'. Ever since I was six years old I have watched "Three's Company" because he was soooooooo funny to me. I also liked him in "It". However, my momma is a big fan of his latest show "Eight Rules..."; but I haven't seen any episodes of it. Anyway, I still watch "Three's Company" on a nightly basis at 11:30 and some nights when I can't sleep or either on the weekends, I watch it when it comes on from 3 - 4. Man, I'm gettin' filled up juss typin' this. May you R.I.P. and always know that you'll forever keep me laughin'.

That's sad to hear! He was soooo funny! I also liked that show (Three's Company) when I was little. I also saw a report and he has a five year old daughter! May he rest in peace!

My brother remembers looking at Three's company but I don't really remember the episodes. I remember seeing John Ritter in Problem Child.

Also one of John Ritter father's best friends Jonny Cash died too.

I was up watching Three's Company at like 3 this morning and then I turned it to CNN and they said that he'd died. I was just as shocked as a lot of people were at that one. My heart goes out to his family and friends...he'll be missed.

I'm sitting here remebering the last time i saw him and it was last wekend whe n they were playing It. I watched his new show from time to time and as always whe ni was a lil girl and i was sick and be outta school i would watch im on nick at nite. He was a great actor and comdeine and he will be greatly missed. Its just a shocked that he dies at such a young age.
