Madonna reportedly gifted Britney Spears with a diamond necklace worth about ten grand as a thank-you for their much-talked-about lip lock at the MTV Video Awards. Sources backstage at the VMA's say Madonna scolded Britney repeatedly during rehearsals for smoking.
