FORMER NBA PLAYER JOHN SALLEY NAMED IN LAWSUIT: Ex Fox Sports employee levels sexual harassment charge. (May. 2, 2003)
*Looks like long tall Salley may have some 'splainin' to do. John Salley, the almost 7 foot tall ex NBA player and now a host on Fox Sports Networks' "The Best D*mn Sports Show Period," has been sued for sexual harassment.
Lisa Brescher began working for the sports talk program in August 2001, and from the first day "was subjected to an environment of unrestrained sexual harassment," according to a Superior Court lawsuit filed Wednesday.
Fox Sports Network said in a statement Thursday that an internal investigation could corroborate none of Brescher's claims.
"Unfortunately, this is a case where a disgruntled worker thinks that there is money to be made by making outlandish accusations against a high-profile company and its stars," Fox spokesman Lou D'Ermilio said.
The suit says that Salley, 38, "regularly pawed (and) groped" Brescher and made unwelcome references to his sexual prowess, the lawsuit alleges. It also claims Salley made suggestive comments and "leered" at her.
The lawsuit also names News Corp., Fox Entertainment Group, Fox Sports Net and producer and co-host Tom Arnold.
Brescher, 29, left on a disability claim in February, the lawsuit says; it was unknown whether the disability was because of the alleged harassment or some
other injury. She's seeking unspecified damages.
I'm gonna open up a can of worms here when I ask why did this woman put up with the harrassment from day one?! No matter how much I may like a job or the amount of money that's being made, I wouldn't tolerate that type of behavior from anyone! However, if it turns out that these allegations are true, this lady is gonna reallllllly have to prove her case. Oh well, this will still be one of my favorite tv shows (whenever I catch it).
