In 1970, Elton John made his debut in the United States at the Troubadour club in Los Angeles.
Also in 1970, Jimi Hendrix played what was to be his last British concert - at the Isle of Wight Pop Festival off the English coast. Three weeks later, the entertainer died in London.
In 1974, the last episode of "The Brady Bunch" aired on ABC.
In 1987, Michael Jackson's "Bad" album was previewed, four days ahead of its scheduled release, on a radio station in Los Angeles.

Oh yeah! I neva knew that Christie Brinkley was the inspiration behind Billy Joel's song, "Uptown Girl". I still love to listen to that one every now and then.
