 August 15, 2003; Janet Gherton Associated press So what new with Ashanti's love life? Well it has been pretty bleak, or so we thought.
Ashanti has been rumored to be dating Hollywood heartthrob Leonardo Dicaprio for the past year or so. Parties from both camps have denied the rumors for eons.
The budding couple finally showed up together holding hands, at a charity event in Los Angeles on Tuesday. "We are in at a point in our relationship, where we wanted to let the world know, 'yea we are together.'," the R & B Songstress said. Leonardo, who was grinning the whole night and his new found love; refused to speak to the press.
Questioned concerning about whether some of Ashanti's male black and latino fans would be alienated after hearing about her new interracial romance she states, "Well I hope my fans like me for my music, and not who I am dating. Me and Leo are happy with each other right now, so that is all that matters"
Leonardo and Ashanti's familes were not able to be reached for comment.-------------------- I want some proof! Like pictures or something!
