SAY GOODBYE AND HELLO TO CEDRIC: Ceddy's Fox show may be canceled, it's still coming back. (June 23, 2003)
Even though Fox's sketch comedy, "Cedric The Entertainer Presents" has been canceled, it's still on the schedule for next season. Now, before you say, "what the hail?!," we'll try and explain.
Even though "Cedric" was on hiatus from mid-March to the end of the season, production continued, and those episodes will air in the fall. Apparently Fox plans on getting its moneys worth; there are enough episodes in the can to run from the launch of the fall season through December.
Interestingly, news reports say that even though the show didn't do as well as it would've liked, Fox wanted to develop a new series for Ceddy. That deal ultimately fell through as Cedric committed to several movie projects.
Eh...I really didn't like this show because it was juss too dry for my taste. I did like "The Cafeteria Lady" and the baby sketches though. Other than that, Ceddy Ced juss didn't have that ooomphhhh!
But then I guess I base shows like this on my all-time favorite sketch comedy show, "In Living Color". Man, I wish they would show reruns of it in my area (I've juss about worn out my videotapes of it).
