Woody and Scola were at the church setting up for the annual Youth Jam. Woody was setting up the microphones while Scola was adjusting the sound.
“Mic check, one, two!” Woody said into the microphone with yellow around the edge. Scola was still adjusting the sound when Woody heard his voice echo through the speakers and then he heard a loud squeal.
“Sorry!” Scola shouted to Woody and everyone within earshot.
“Well it works!” Woody said to Scola and gave him a thumbs up.
“Setting up these microphones reminds me of the Kindred Spirit days.” Scola said to Woody.
“Yeah, man. I miss those days when we used to sing all those Commissioned and Winans songs!” Woody said as he laughed to himself.
Scola grabbed the microphone and sang, “Question is, Will I ever leave you? The answer is…”
Woody grabbed the nearest microphone and sang with Scola, “Nooo no no no no no, nooo no no no no, no no no!” They both started to laugh, but everyone started to look at them because they harmonized well.
“Uhh…umm just checking!” Woody said and he and Scola looked at each other and headed back to the sound board.
“I wish I had experienced Kindred Spirits from the beginning. I was only with ya’ll for a short time before the incident that went down.” Scola said to Woody.
“I know! Unfortunately, we had to end it or somebody was seriously gonna be hurt.” Woody said.
“Right!” Scola said as he agreed with Woody and he said, “What a shame!”

Thomas Andrews walked up to the front entrance of the church, because he wanted to go to the Youth Jam.
He saw the list of the acts who were gonna be there, and proceeded in the church. He felt very comfortable in this church, even though he only had attended less than a year.
He walked up inside the church and walked passed Pastor D and one of the elders sons as they were sitting back watching the persons setting up for the show.
Carl, the elder’s son, was chatting with Pastor D when Thomas caught his eye sight.
“Sisqo, man wassup?” Pastor D said to Thomas. Thomas was looking around to see if he spotted Sisqo.
“Hey, you ain’t talking to me today? Pastor D said to Thomas thinking he was Sisqo.
Thomas looked at Pastor D and pointed at himself. “You talkin’ to me?”
“Yeah, you Sisqo right?” Pastor D said to Thomas.
“Naaa! I’m Thomas, but I do have a cousin they call Sisqo.” Thomas said.
“Wow! Come a little closer.” Pastor D said to Thomas. Thomas walked over to Pastor D and he observed him.
“See, Sisqo doesn’t have this mole.” Thomas said as he pointed to the mole on his chin.
“Oh ok. I have met you before, right?” Pastor D said as he looked closer to Thomas.
Thomas was slightly embarrassed. He knew that he didn’t meet Pastor D under the best circumstances.
“Uhh, yeah.” Thomas said as he held his head down in embarassment.
“You’re the young man that was about to take my head off at the play?” Pastor D said and he laughed.
“I’m glad you’re laughing now.” Thomas said as he cracked a smile.
“Yeah, you were definitely not the first and won’t be the last.” Pastor D said to comfort Thomas.
“I had to check myself afterwards, I felt really bad. I had to let everything sink in. The play was real deep. I had to make some hard decisions.” Thomas stated to Pastor D.
Pastor D put his hand on Thomas shoulder, and Thomas didn’t back away.
“I prayed about it and after a while Imade the choice to stay here, my girl and I have been attending almost a year now. But our relationships about to be over.” Thomas said.
“You’ll make it man, just hang in there.” Pastor D said to Thomas. Just then Carl started tugging on Pastor D’s pants leg.
“Your wife wants you!” Carl said as he looked up at the pastor.
“I’m sorry we gotta cut this short, man. The misses is calling and it must be important. Pastor D told Thomas.
“Oh that’s okay!” Thomas said to Pastor D, and he smiled.
Pastor D extended his hand to Thomas and they shook hands. “Enjoy the show! Let me know if you need to talk some more, OK?”
“Sure!” Thomas said.
Pastor D and Carl walked off into the direction on Pastor D’s wife Jillian.
Just then Thomas heard Woody and Scola harmonizing. He looked in the direction of the stage and saw them both at the microphone. Thomas had spotted Woody on several occasions but never had an opportunity to talk. Thomas had not seen Woody or his cousin Sisqo since the incident that happened almost five years ago. Thomas was also a lot heavier the last time he had seen them. He had seen Scola a few times, but didn’t really know him. He thought he was cool.
He walked toward the stage after Woody and Scola had walked back to the sound board.
“Hey, wassup ya’ll!” Thomas said as he approached them.
“Wassup Sisqo, you checking out the Youth Jam today?” Scola said to Thomas.
“I’m not Sisqo.” Thomas said as he looked at Scola.
“Stop playing games, man!” Woody said to Thomas.
“All these years and you can’t tell the difference between the real Sisqo and his cousin T.” Thomas said as he smiled.
