Actor Arrested With Loaded Handgun
NEW YORK - An actor hoping to view a movie in which he had a bit part was arrested Wednesday evening as he allegedly tried to enter the Tribeca Film Festival with a fully loaded handgun.
Private security guards caught Hanif Mohammad, 20, with a loaded 357 Magnum handgun as he approached the Tribeca Performing Arts Center, said Detective Joseph Cavitolo, a police spokesman.
Mohammad, of Philadelphia, was on his way to "Death of a Dynasty," in which he plays a small role, the New York Post and the Daily News reported in Thursday editions. Rapper JayZ, MTV host Carson Daly and "Sopranos" cast members Jamie-Lynn Sigler and Lorraine Braco make cameos in the film, a satirical take on the world of hip-hop.
The Manhattan district attorney's office said Thursday that Mohammad had not yet been arraigned.
