Man Dies When His Car Crashes Into Funeral Home
A driver who crashed his car into a Columbus funeral home overnight died before rescuers knew he was there.
Columbus police Detective Deborah Ayers says the accident likely happened between 1:15 and 1:30 Tuesday morning but nobody reported it until a nearby resident called police at 6:45 A.M.
The driver apparently lost control of the car, crashing into the O.R. Woodyard Funeral Home on the city's northwest side. The car flipped over and wedged into a doorway.
Police spokeswoman Sherry Mercurio declined to identify the driver until his relatives have been told of his death.
