Woman Allegedly Steals Ring From Dead
LAFAYETTE, La. - A Crowley woman is accused of leaving a funeral wake with a wedding ring stolen from the hand of the deceased.
Susan M. Duhon, 44, was booked with felony theft. She was free on $10,000 bond Wednesday.
Duhon is reportedly related to the deceased woman, Crowley Police Capt. Richard Sammartino said.
Sammartino said they suspected Duhon knew the deceased because she signed the visitor's book.
Duhon was at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home when she allegedly took the ring, valued at $500, as she visited the coffin of the deceased woman.
Sammartino said witnesses noticed Duhon's odd behavior during the July 25 wake and contacted police, who went to Duhon's home to interview her. They found the ring and booked her into the Acadia Parish jail.
As of Wednesday, Duhon had not been charged by the district attorney. Yahoo News
Sounds like somebody was gonna make a trip to the pawn shop. But how ghetto is this, man?! ::SMH::

Gotta make my state look bad. She might've been on something or she really wanted that ring for sentimental reasons...

Why would they even leave the 500 dollar ring on her It was probably old and stinky, you know how those old people are Hehe. Just a jest. Anyway...that is just disgusting. But if she really needed the cash for something important (and I'm talking about something very important) I could understand.
