Carlos Santana Raises $2M For AIDS Fight: Guitar Legend Pledges Net Proceeds From TourLegendary rocker Carlos Santana estimates he made $2 million this summer to fight AIDS in Africa.
Santana had pledged the net proceeds from the U.S. leg of his "Shaman" tour would go to the charity Artists for a New South Africa, to battle the spread of AIDS.
Sub-Saharan Africa has been hit harder by HIV-AIDS than any other region of the world. The United Nations estimates that nearly 30 million Africans are infected with HIV or have AIDS.
The Grammy-winning artist wrapped up his 23-city tour Monday night in Los Angeles.
Santana told the crowd, "Because of you, there will be education, prevention, and there will be healing." WRAL.comI cannot put into words how wonderful this news is! Mr. Santana is not only a legend, but an Angel in Disguise!

Good for him!!! Both he and his wife have been involved in charities for a looong time. They even founded The Milagro ( miracle) Foundation a few years back to help underprivileged children. (portions of his album sales gets donated to the fund)
