Swarm Of Bees Helps Shoplifter Escape Kmart Store Employees Use Insecticide To Kill InsectsSEDALIA, Mo. -- A swarm of honeybees paid the ultimate price so that a shoplifter could escape a Sedalia Kmart.
A man was spotted shoplifting by store security, who followed the suspect into a bathroom to confront him. But when personnel opened the bathroom door, about 100 honeybees buzzed out. The suspect apparently let the bees loose when he was in the bathroom.
"He probably started yelling 'Bees! Bees!' or whatever the case may be, then created that big diversion, then got out," said Cmdr. John DeGonia, of the Sedalia Police Department.
According to a police report, the man escaped with about $60 worth of CDs, perfume, batteries and a pair scissors.
Store employees used bug spray to kill the bees.
The buzz shocked workers and customers alike, but none of them was stung. The things some people will do! But I can juss imagine the scene when the bathroom door was opened--lolololol!
