I already know from the first pic that I'm gonna be emotional when Mary accepts her Essence Award when it airs ::sniff sniff::  She's such a HUGE inspiration to me, that I gotta give her her props! Mary won the Essence 2003 Honoree Award. The theme for this year's award honorees is "The Power of the Word". I juss found out that the show airs on June 27 on FOX at 8:00. If I could say one thang to her it would be: Thanx for reppin the real women like you do, holdong us down and giving it to us straight. Letting them guys know that we ain't no push overs, we strong, intelligent, beautiful women. I would also say thanks 4 keeping it real wit us because you didn't have to tell us that you never graduated, but you did and you promised us that you would og back and get your diploma, and you did!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for also spreading the message of the importnace of education and continuing your own.
