"Charlene? Why does that name sound familiar?" asked James as he looked at the bracelet. The name peaked some sort of recognition but he couldn't put his finger on where he remembered it.
"I know, it do sound pretty familiar." said Larry.
"Charlene is my sisters' name. Unless you guys know her, you probably just heard it somewhere else. Maybe a fan told you her name." said Alex as she stuck the bracelet in her pocket.
"Nah, that aint it. It feels like we knew her personally, or at least me." said Mark shaking his head.
"Me too. Charlene. Charlene. Man where do I know that name from?!" said Tamir becoming frustrated.
"Y'all sure y'all never met her after a concert?" asked Rufus, after all other than Derrick, he didn't know Lene.
"No, I'm sure. This feels like someone we know know." said Larry.
"Charlene, Charlene, Char...Lene. Lene!" shouted Mark popping his head up quickly.
"Yeah that's her nickname." said Alex.
"Aint Lene the name of that girl you use to talk to?" asked Mark.
"Yeah, she was the one with the strict father." said Larry nodding his head.
"Ohhhhhhh Lene." said Tamir finally getting it.
"Y'all know my sister?" asked Alex.
"Yeah I gave her that bracelet a few years ago for her birthday. We were talking back then, but her father interferred and that was the last time I saw her." said James.
"Yeah I remember now, he blew up at you for kissing her at her party." said Tamir.
"I remember that, man he overreacted big time." said Mark shaking his head.
"So your the sister she talked about back then." said James.
"She told you about me?" asked Alex.
"Yeah, I remember being on the phone with her and I asked her if she had any brothers or sisters. And she told me about you." said James.
"I knew the name Alex sounded familiar too." said Larry.
"She told y'all too?"
"No, James did." said Tamir.
"You never mentioned her to me." said Rufus. He was beginning to feel a little left out.
"That's cause she had already moved to Texas before you could meet her." said James.
"Oh aight." said Rufus.
"Don't worry dawg, I'm out there too." chuckled Derrick.
"How is she? asked James.
"She's doing good. Except she and our father aren't exactly getting along." said Alex.
"Damn, sorry to hear that." said Larry.
"Don't be, I heard you seen a little bit of how my dad could act. That's only a taste of how he can really be. Now I don't know how he was then, but if he's anything like she said and how I remember him, than I'm not surprised she doesn't care too much for him."
"So why do you want to reconcile with him?" asked Mark.
"Because, I want my father to walk me down the aisle. I want my children to know who their grandparents are. I don't want to die not having things right between us."
"I guess those are good enough reasons." said Tamir.
"Yeah but my sister doesn't think so."
"She doesn't want to make things right?" asked Rufus.
"No, she's got a lot of built up anger. But she does want to be there when I meet back up with them."
"Why?" asked Derrick.
"Because she knows our mother will be glad to see me. She wants to be there to see her reaction."
"Well good luck." said James.
"Thanks, we're gonna need it."
