Dear Diary,
Today was a pretty good day. I saw him again. And yes he was looking good, as always. I still haven't got the guts to talk to him. He's sooooooooo cute. I want him so bad. So what if I'm too young to be thinking like this. I WANT him. But I can tell he's a good guy. I mean, he's the sweetest guy I ever seen. The thing is I think he's a little shy. Hopefully I can break him out of that. I don't see how, I mean, I'm a little shy myself. Anyway, I know one thing, I have got to get him to notice me, if he hasn't already. I was thinking about going down to the courts again tomorrow to see if he'd notice me. Hopefully I can get past daddy. He's been in a bad mood all this week. He's so damn strict. I mean if he knew what I write in you and how much I curse, he'd flip his wig. I don't care though. I just want him to ligthen up a bit. I'm sick of the way he treats me and momma. And she's to scared to go against him. All I know is, I'm glad I'll be leaving soon. I can't stand here any longer. Hopefully I can get with the guy of dreams and he'll take all my worries away. But until then, I guess I have to put up with all of the crap that goes on here. Well diary, that's it for today. I think I'mma head out now.

Charlene put her diary into her desk so she could get ready to go to bed.
The next day she and her bestfriend Regina, were gonna sit and watch the boys play a couple of games of basketball.
These aren't too short, thought Charlene as she held up a pair of shorts. She changed into the shorts and threw on a big t-shirt. She threw her golden brown hair into a ponytail. She didn't bother to put on make-up because she knew how her father was.
I'll just put on some of Ginas' lip gloss, she thought as she looked herself over in the mirror. She then headed downstairs to the kitchen to grab a soda while she waited for Gina to come.
"How many sodas was that?" asked Charlenes' mother Sheila.
"This is my first one." said Charlene holding the can up for her mother to see.
"You know your father doesn't like for you to drink those before dinner."
"I know ma, but dinner's not for a couple of hours. Can I just have this one?"
"I don't care, but you know that means no more snacks until later."
"I know, can I still have a soda for dinner?"
"Lene."
"Please."
"Okay."
"Thank you mommy." said Charlene giving her mother a kiss on the cheek.
"Where are you going?" asked Charlenes' father David.
"Down to the courts with Gina." said Charlene.
"I thought you two yesterday." said David with a stern look on his face.
"No sir we didn't."
"Those shorts look a little short." said David eying her shorts.
"David those shorts are fine. Remember we just bought those." said Sheila trying to avoid another arguement.
"Still." said David.
"David, they're fine." said Sheila putting her hand on his shoulder.
"How many sodas have you had?"
"She only had that one and she hasn't even opened it yet."
"You know you can't have any other snacks if you drink that now. And I know you're gonna want another one for dinner."
"Yes sir, momma already told me." said Charlene nodding her head. Just then the doorbell rang.
"That must be Gina, well don't leave her out there. You be home by dinner time." said David pointing at her.
"Yes sir." said Charlene walking out of the kitchen. When she opened the door Gina had a huge smile on her face.
"You ready to see some fine n****s." said Gina.
"Ssssh, girl, my daddy's in there." said Charlene hurrying outside.
"Ohhhh, sorry. But anyway, you still ready to see them."
"Oh hell yeah. I wonder if that boy is gonna be there."
