Thank you God, thought Toya.
“Toya, I couldn’t let you do this. Baby you mean the world to me. I can’t live my life without you. I will not let you marry someone who doesn’t deserve you.” said Nokio pleading with Toya as he held her hands.
“Boy, what the hell are you doing here?” asked Kathan angrily.
“Nokio…” started Toya.
“Toya listen to me, I know that I made a mistake, but I swear I love you. I can’t spend another day without you. And whether you believe it or not you love me too. You can’t deny that. You can try but all that’s gonna happen is you’re gonna spend the rest of your life wondering what could have been if you hadn’t let this go.”
“Boy, you better get away from my fiancée. Pastor, continue the ceremony.” said Kathan grabbing Toya and turning her back to the altar.
“Toya, think about what we have. Think about how happy we were when we were together. Think about everything we’ve been through. Think about it. Can you honestly tell me you don’t want that back?”
“Toya, baby, lets finish the ceremony.” said Kathan.
“Toya listen to your heart.” said Shayla walking up to Toya. She hated the way they were yelling in her ear.
“Yeah Toya, listen to what you heart is telling you to do. Let that make your decision for you.” said Lauren, she too wanted Toya to make the decision on her own.
Toya just stood speechless. She wanted to believe what Nokio was saying, but how could she after what he had done. True, she did love him, but how could she forget that he lied.
“Nokio, listen I love you but…” said Toya again getting cut off.
“Oh hell naw, I didn’t do all of that stuff to get you back for you to sit here and tell some other man that you love.” said Kathan, he was trying his hardest not to cuss but the situation was making it really hard for him.
“What stuff?” asked Toya with an upset and confused look on her face.
“I come on, I didn’t put up with that girl Tiandrea for nothing. My planned work, you’re my fiancée now. You are going to marry me. You will obey me for the rest of your life. Now turn around so we can finish the ceremony.” said Kathan grabbing her arm and turning her back around to the alter.
“Ow, you’re hurting me.” said Toya pulling her arm out of his grip.
“Come on now!” said Kathan grabbing her again. As he did, Anthony, Nokio, Sisqo, Woody, Scola, and Jazz ran up on him.
“Boy you better get yo hands off of my daughter.” said Anthony.
“Yeah, pastor, I think we’re about to have a funeral.” said Nokio giving Kathan a hateful look.
“Kathan man, let her go.” said Vernon trying to reason with Kathan to let her go.
“Come on you guys, we are in a church. Y’all can’t fight in here.” said Shayla pulling Sisqos’ arm to back him up.
“You right baby, we can’t fight in a church. But it’s good to know that a preacher’s close by.” said Sisqo eying Kathan.
“Kathan let me go.” said Toya trying to pull her arm away.
“No, we are going to get married.” said Kathan holding her arm tighter.
“Owwww.”
“Look, I don’t wanna hit you because we’re in the house of God. But you’re making it real hard for me.” said Nokio, he was getting closer with every word he spoke.
“Kathan let her go. Do you really think she’s gonna marry you now? Seriously look at you.” said Lauren pleading with him.
“I know, and especially after what you just said. There is no way she’s gonna marry you.” said Shayla walking up to him.
“Shut the hell up Shayla before I throw you across this church!” shouted Kathan to her face.
“Hold up playa, bad enough you hurting Toya, but I’ll be… doggon if you yell at my girl like that.” said Sisqo pushing Shayla out of the way, and also trying not to cuss.
“Listen boy, I’m not gon tell you but one mo time to let go of my daughter.” said Anthony, this time all four of Toyas’ uncles stood behind him.
Kathan was beginning to get surrounded. By this time, the guys, her father, her uncles, and her three brothers were standing around him. He had no choice but to give in.
“Fine!” said Kathan letting go of her arm, “If you want him, go to him. I threw with you.”
He, Vernon and the some of his groomsmen quickly walked up the aisle to exit the church.
“Toya, are you okay?” asked Lauren wrapping her arm around her neck.
“Yeah, I’m fine.” said Toya looking into Nokios’ eyes.
“I can’t believe you were about to marry that man.” said Shayla also hugging Toya.
“Yeah I know.”
“Baby girl, you sure you’re alright.” said Anthony, rubbing her arms.
“Yes daddy I’m okay.”
“Didn’t I tell you we always had yo back.” said Jazz.
“Yeah, you told me.”
“Didn’t believe him did you?” asked Scola.
“Yeah I know and I can see we aint the only ones.” said Sisqo looking around at her uncles and brothers.
Nokio couldn’t hold it back any longer. He walked past everyone and gave Toya the most passionate kiss they had ever had. She couldn’t do anything but oblige by what he was doing.
“Boy, if it wasn’t for the fact that I thought you should be the one to marry my daughter, I’d have a big problem with that.” said Anthony while they still stood there kissing.
“I love you.” said Toya backing away from the kiss.
“I love you too.” said Nokio still holding on to her.
“It’s about time you admitted it.” said Sisqo.
“Shut-up.” giggled Toya.
“Well, this has been an exciting day.” said Pastor Richards, “But is anyone here gonna get married?”
All eyes went to Nokio and Toya. They looked at each other for a minute before they answered.
“Well, I think Toya agrees with me when I say not today.” said Nokio looking Toya in her eyes.
“Toya, I couldn’t let you do this. Baby you mean the world to me. I can’t live my life without you. I will not let you marry someone who doesn’t deserve you.” said Nokio pleading with Toya as he held her hands.
