November 9th
"Well," sighed Jazz as the limo's horn blasted in the driveway "Here it goes.
You ready man?"
" As ready as I'll ever be." Tamir smiled nervously at his friends.
"All right then people, lets get going,” shouts Mark bouncing up and down like a child with a new toy," we don't want to be late do we now?"
“You’d think he was the one getting married.” James said to Tamir.
“I know huh, sad isn’t it?” Tamir just looked at Mark and winked.

"There" replied India as she gently placed the beautiful piece of baby's breath in her best friend's hair.
"How do I look? " questioned Kiara as looked at her best friend adjust her dress.
"Beautiful." And she was. Snapping out of her trance, India quickly glanced at the clock above Kiara's head and gasped, "Ooh girl, we gotta go! Come on, or you'll be late for your own wedding!"
"All right then, lets go!" she exclaimed grabbing the bottom of her silky custom-made Japanese dress. The white stretch limo waiting outside for them was now turning around to welcome them at the door.
"One more thing," she cried out as she turned around and ran back in the house.
"What child…what?" India replied clearly agitated by the delay.
"My veil and bouquet! Where are they? " Kiara exclaimed with bewilderment as
Her arms thrashed wildly about for them.
"Kiara…Kiara….KIARA!" yelled India as she stood outside the doorway. “They're in the car."
"Oh." replied Kiara as she let out a sigh of relief and walked out the house.
As the door, by the hand of the chauffeur, slammed quickly shut, Kiara felt butterflies in her stomach and took a deep breath.
"You okay? " asked India
"Yeah I'll be fine. I love Tamir. I can do this, can't I?" she whimpered.
"Yeah, sure you can. I've never seen two people love each other like you two do. You can do it."
And as the limo drove to its destination, the two girls held hands as though they we're in first grade.

“Are you sure you’re ready to do this?” India asked as she pulled Kiara’s veil over her face as they stood in the pastor’s study in the back of the church.
“I’m nervous…what if I’m not going to be a good wife? What if this is like most Hollywood marriages and doesn’t last? What if—“
The sound of thunder slowly rolled in the distance silencing her. Suddenly all her worries erased from her mind and she smiled.
“Does that answer your question?” India said with a smile on her face. “God has spoken.”
India handed her best friend her bouquet and gave her a warm hug. Kiara had a date with destiny…she was going to be Mrs. Tamir Ruffin.
During the entire ceremony the skies showed no mercy, the sound of thunder and raindrops tapping against the stained glass windows broke the immaculate silence of the church.
“I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone so beautiful in my life,” James stood in awe of Kiara as she proudly repeated her vows.
“I have,” Mark smiled as he looked at India. They said no one should upstage the bride on her wedding day, but to him India had done just that without even trying.
“I now pronounce you husband and wife…you may salute your bride.”
The preacher’s words broke the trance Mark and India had on each other they looked up at their best friends who were embraced in their first kiss as Mr. And Mrs. Ruffin. Kiara and Tamir found a love in each other love that as the minister said “is bound by God and no man can put asunder”
As they began to exit the church, Mark took India’s hand and turned toward the altar.
“Baby what are you doing,”
“Just come on,” he said pulling her up the stairs and planting them in front of the minister and the entire congregation. “Can I have everyone’s attention for just a minute, please.”
Everyone turned their attention to Mark at the front of the church, even the bride and groom.
“India I know we’ve only known each other a short time and I every day that we’ve spent together I’ve grown to love you more and more. There’s something I’ve been wanting to say to you for a long time and now and I feel this is the perfect time to ask you…India, will you do me the honor of being my wife?”
“I—I don’t know what to say…”
“Say yes!” Kiara whispered loudly.
“YES!” she said as her eyes welled with tears.
“Then come on…”
“Now!?” she asked stunned along with the rest of the church at his gesture.
“I mean that is if Kiara and Noke don’t mind us sharing their day and if the minister doesn’t mind?”
“Not at all!” the three questioned replied in unison.
“But we—we don’t have a license—“
“Yes we do,” Mark pulled an envelope from his jacket pocket. “We’ve got rings--” as he turned and received a velvet box from Larry. “A minister, a church…what do you say?”
“I—I…” she stuttered.
“Here use my veil and my bouquet…something new and borrowed. Your dress is something blue.” Kiara said removing the ring of flowers with thin tulle netting from her head and placing it on India’s head and handing her the bouquet. She kissed her best friend on the cheek. “Now…you’re set.”
“So what do you say, India?” she looked down to find Mark on one knee in front of her, his eyes pleading for an answer.
“Yes,” she managed to get past the lump in her throat and turned proudly toward the minister.
In the sight of God and everyone invited…they were married that day…all four of them. It was the best birthday present Mark could have asked for.
Conclusion coming soon!!!!
