A couple of weeks later, Michael was gazing out of the window in his office. He was thinking of how he had more than likely scared and threw everyone off track with the conniving things he had been doing.
"I only have Peaches, James, and Mark left to deal with now!", he thought to himself. He was so deep in thought that he hadn't heard the first few knocks on his door. "Come in!"
"Hey, man! Didn't'cha hear me knockin'?", Don asked as he took a seat in front of Michael's desk.
"If I did, I would have answered sooner now wouldn't I?!", Michael snapped as he glared at Don.
"Dn! What's wrong wit'chu? Did I come at a bad time or somethin'?", he snapped back as he began to stand back up.
"Nah, man! I'm sorry. Juss had some stuff on my mind.", Michael replied with a shake of his head. Although he thought Don didn't see Kiara's picture lying on the corner of his desk, he did as Michael quickly pushed it into a pile of paperwork that was also on the corner of his desk.
"Oh, aight man.", Don hesitantly stated as he gave Michael a puzzling look. "I was juss wonderin' if you were still gonna be able to go to dinner with me and Tina tonight. You know...to get'cha outta the house. It's been a while since we hung out together outside of work and the gym."
"Nah, man. I'ma take a rain check.", Michael replied with a shake of his head.
Before he could catch himself, Don made the wrong statement. "You have to get ova Kee! You need to live your own life now, Mike!"
Michael jumped up and pounded both of his fists down onto his desk. "Get the cufk outta here!"
Don was startled for a moment, but he decided to stand his ground. "Mike! Get a grip!"
"Did you hear what I said?! Get the cufk out or I'll do you like I did those otha sons-of-itchbes!!!" Michael had walked around his desk by this time to stand face-to-face with Don.
"Are you sayin' that you were the cause of those accidents?", Don whispered in a shocked tone.
Michael thought about what he had just confessed and became angrier. He grabbed Don by the collar of his sports jacket and pulled him over to the door. "Stay the hell away from here!!!"
After slamming the door behind Don, Michael went back over to his chair, flopped down in it, and proceeded to take his hand and knock everything around and off of his desk. "Dt!!!"
Meanwhile, Don stood on the other side of the door with a look of total shock on his face. He didn't now whether or not to make Kiara and the others aware of what Michael had been doing.

Later on that evening when Kiara came in from work after being placed on early maternity leave, she noticed a few pieces of luggage sitting by the door.
"Mark?! What's goin' on?", she asked as she walked into the den. When she didn't see him in there, she went to the stairs to yell the question to him again. He quickly ran out of their bedroom with another bag.
"W'sup, ma! Look...don't take your coat off!", he slyly grinned as he gave her a quick kiss. "I've decided that I'm gonna take my girl away for a relaxin' weekend."
"Really?! Oh my God! Well, what's the occasion?", she grinned.
"No occasion... I juss wanna do somethin' nice for you. I'm sure all this stuff that's been goin' on lately has gotten ya stressed out. So we're goin' up to a cabin away from everybody and everything. It's juss gonna be you, me, and our son." He proceeded to open her coat to rub her almost 5 month tummy.
"Son? Mark, we don't even know what I'm havin' yet!", she giggled with a roll of her eyes as she swatted his hand.
"It doesn't matta because a fatha like me knows what he's havin'!", he chuckled as he began to open the door.
"Well, it's mighty funny that fathas like you and so many othas don't have to tote around the extra weight.", she huffed as he helped her out to the car.
"Yeah, whateva! I juss wanna make sure that my babies aren't stressed out.", he grinned as he ran back into the house to bring the luggage out to the car.
On their way down to their beach getaway, Kiara quickly fell asleep. Mark was so busy chatting away that he didn't even notice that she hadn't responded in the first few minutes after she went off to dreamland. It was when he asked her a question about what did she want to listen to that he glanced over and noticed that her head was leaning up against the window as she began to lightly snore.
"Awwwww...well, lemme find somethin'.", he smiled to himself as he began to hit the shuffle button on the CD player. He decided to listen to and sing along with he and his boys' first CD. At one point, he became so caught up during his part on "All Alone" that he woke Kiara up out of her sleep.
"Mmmmmmmmm!!!", she moaned while stretching. "How much longer do we have to go now?"
"Not too much longer.", he grinned as he quickly glanced over at her. "You pretty tired, huh?"
"Yeah...carryin’ our lil' bundle around is beginnin' to wear a sistah out. But this right here is worth it.", she smiled as she lightly rubbed her tummy.
"Oh fo' sho!", Mark grinned as he reached over to place his hand on top of hers for a second.
"This is us?!", Kiara gasped about a half hour later as Mark pulled his ride around to the back of the huge cabin that was in the midst of a wooded part of a beach.
"Yeah, ma!", he winked as he put the SUV in park. He quickly climbed out and ran around to open her door. When he took her inside, she was even more excited. Everything was simple but beautiful.
"Now you sit down and wait until I come back in.", he grinned as he headed back out to his ride to bring the luggage in.
"Kee! What are you doin'?!", he asked in surprise after bringing the last of the luggage inside. He saw her looking through the fridge and cabinets to try to fix some dinner for them.
"Wha'?!!", she snapped as she looked over at him.
"If you don't get yo' booty ova here and sit down! I'm takin' you out to dinner for the next few nights. I told you that you're not gonna do nothin'. This weekend is juss for you and him.", he smiled as he walked over to her to give her a warm hug. He followed up with a kiss on the tip of her nose.
"Aight, well I guess I'd betta go take a quick shower and get outta these clothes and change into some more.", she giggled as she held her head down out of a moment of shyness as she and Mark continued to hold one another. Even though she had been with him for a little over a year, she still wasn't used to the fact of someone treating her this good. Sometimes she had to pinch herself to make sure she wasn't dreaming.
"You know I've always thought you were extra cute when you blush like that.", he whispered with a wide grin just as she was making eye contact with him again.
"Stop!", she giggled as she looked away from him once more. But this time when she looked back up at him they shared a light kiss that grew into a more passionate one.
"Whewwwwwww, girl! I betta stop so I'll have some more for ya lata!", he chuckled as he let go of her.
"Yeah, you right!", she smiled as they went into the back to get ready for dinner.
