Okay, here we go:
The day was hectic, and I was anxious as ever. From the minute I awoke in the morning I was already planning for the day ahead and could not stop thinking about it. I started charging my camera batteries, cell phone, etc. I was singing Dru Hill all day in school (pissing people off and just kept talking about the concert. The day was surely going to be a day I would extremely enjoy. Including the fact that I was also having my l33t cable modem installed in the afternoon, I was jumping off the walls and was literally ready to explode of excitement!
I got home from school and then waited about an hour for the d*** guy to show up. He finished things up in about a half hour. I didn't get to try it out yet, because we head out immediately for the concert.
Then... came the car drive. Oh my god. We drove an hour to pick up my cousin. Then, there was what was suppose to be 40 minute drive tops to the city. As soon as we left the NJ Turnpike... traffic galore. After the 40 minutes passed that we were suppose to be there, I realized we were going to be late *DUN DUN DUN DUN!* We were -_-;; By like thirty minutes.
So, basically, here's how the rest went. We get to the place, and my grandma tells me not to bring my camera because they would just take it at the door. I was in no position to leave it with them, it was quite an expensive camera. So, I left it in the car. We run up to the place not wanting to miss anything. They didn't even check for the d*** thing. This is the reason why I have no media to offer Julie snagged some stuff though. *yay!!*
We're outside in line, and all of a sudden I hear someone yell DRU HILL on the mic inside. I started panicing. Lmao -- there were people handing out posters and such. Well, this one guy was giving out these small packets. They looked like condems and he gave me like twenty (no joke). They had Winterfresh on them so I was like wtf? I shoved them in my cousin's purse and then we moved on inside. They turned out to be those mint strips that melt in your mouth. We hurried to our seats. I thought I was missing the concert, but instead, there was some radio personality *I think* on stage getting people hyped up. We waited another half hour -_-;;
The lights went out completely, for the most part. Then, you hear a mixed track with a bunch of old school Dru Hill tracks from In My Bed, Tell Me, How Deep Is Your Love, to Wild Wild West! Each played for a few seconds. Then, they had this radio tuner transition between each one. It stopped.
"NOKIO, JAZZ, SCOLA, NOKIO, SISQO!" On Me started playing and then the guys came out. Doing a very nice dance routine for the song, everyone was getting in the mood and excited. They sang a few more songs (obviously) and then they did these small solo things on stage, then the group came out and did the chorus. Jazz did Never Make A Promise, and Scola did something as well. *I forget* Jazz really got in touch with the crowd. Sisqo did too later on. They handed out a bunch of roses to people.
Sisqo had just begun singing the first verse of No Doubt when some usher was trying to tell people to sit down. He started freestyling at the usher telling him to let the people do what they want. Julie will have to tell you the lyrics, I completely forgot. People were going CRAZY. Then, Sisqo jumped off the stage and, from what I could see, was getting in the usher's face (maybe just appologizing to the people the usher was trying to sit down). Well, that certainly was the best part of the night.
Maybe before or after (don't remember) Sisqo's daughter came on stage. I could have sworn it was a boy (she was dressed like one, afterall). I thought it was Nokio's son maybe, but Sisqo was holding her hand and then kissed her at the end. I didn't realize until later who it was. Well, she got up on stage and was dancing with the group. Sisqo looks like a really great dad. She was smiling so much and the two just looked really happy to be together. He gave her his denim jacket with the airbrush design while she danced with them then she ran off stage.
Sisqo did his own thing near the end. Break danced his f***ing ass off. Words seriously can't describe how amazing it was. He did this flip thing across the entire stage and people started freaking out screaming. The place was so small, and the bass was so loud. He sang his version of In Da Club, but you couldn't hear a d*** lyric because of that.
Once he was done, Dru Hill came back out and sang I Should Be and I Love You. They might have sang something else, but I forgot, heh. People really loved these songs. Everyone was singing along. I don't think a single person there didn't enjoy their show. It was a non-stop party. I have a new found love and respect for them. It was something I'll definitely never forget.
I highly recommend if you have the chance to see them in concert or at a club, GO!
PS - Julie, you are very pretty ;D
