I read this article about Woody (about a concert he performed in last year.) I don't know if he has changed his mind after he made this statement. But It'll be interesting to know what happens after DWO cools off. Woody discussed his dilemma with his former label, Def Soul and the deal with Gospo Centric . He said, “Dru Hill started out as a gospel group. I am still a member of Dru Hill, but I always wanted to do a gospel music. This CD should have been out 3 years ago, but Def Soul wouldn’t release me from my contract unless I did one more album with Dru Hill. I said after that I didn’t want to do any more secular music.

Awwww...well if that's what he wants to do, as a fan I would have to respect that, but it juss wouldn't be the same without him (like the first time he left) ::sniff, sniff::

Personally... I think that Dru Hill should go back to the way it was before.
No more Nokio producing these s***-worth songs. No more Scola (Even though I think he's awesome). No more Thong Song wannabe's (No Doubt). etc...
If you think otherwise, I respect your opinion, but Dru Hill has changed too much. Maybe some of you remember, but when DWO came out, I was extremely disappointed and pissed off. It has grown on me a lot since then, but I just wish things hadn't changed so much...

Well the only problem that I see with your statement Chris, it that you seem to be coming down on them becasue of the fact that they have changed. Change is a part of life and change ios good for them even if we don't think so. Think about it like this: this decsion about bringing Scola in and the ttype of music that Nokio is producing may not be the right formula, but its good becasue it lets them know what not to do the next time around. I don't think that this album was a dissapointment, I hinestly believe that it has showed their growth as a group, and the determination not to be labled as just another R& B group singing ballads. As far as Woody's statement maybe that was the way he was feeling at the time, he may not feel the same now. Also this is not pertaining to you Chris , but to other people who have so myuch to say about whether or not Woody is Religious: It doesn't matter what type of music you sing, that is not what dertermines your spirituality, its your heart that dertermines it.

That's the thing though...
they sound just like any other R&B group singing ballads. On nearly all of DWO's tracks I had to question whether or not I had heard a certain tune, lyric, or style elsewhere. I understand that they shouldn't stay the same forever, but it's like, the way they were before was the reason I liked them. After they changed, certainly, I shouldn't be obligated to like them the same as before.
Don't get me wrong though, my opinions have completely changed about DWO. Well, except that I completely despise the whole thing with Nokio producing for Dru...

I wasn't trying to start anything, but I am concerned about that statement. It wasn't a few years ago that he said it, he said this last year ! And I don't know if anyone caught on Blueprint when he said something about doing it one more time. I'm just getting prepared that if he does leave again, I won't be surprised. I don't think most folks wouldn't be surprised if he leaves again, being that he is a spiritual guy.

I kinda have adapted to Scola being there, but l liked the original Dru also. I have a million and one ideas of what Dru should do on their next album, and it involves Nokio only on one or two tracks!!!!!!!!!

That lil article is from an interview he did when his CD came out, I'm sure Woody changed his mind. Scola should stay, but definitely the new stuff doesn't size up etc.

Well, okay so Nokio need a il help wit production, but I mean adding Scola is probably what made Dru Hill come out as strong as they did before, I mean a lot of people went out and bought hte album just to hear what the new member sounded like, I think that it is a wrong reason to but the album and I certainly didn't buy it for that reason . There are a lot of true die hard Dru Hill fans out there, but there are those fans that feel that they have come to the end of their road. I hope that they don't end thier run anytime soom.
Getting back on my original topic though: I think that some people just bought the album just becasue they thought that Dru Hill was gonna be completley wack, Now while I'll go ahead and agree that album isn't as great as the first two, it is what I would call a classic, I actually think that is a great love album.

I hope I run into him one day so I can ask him!LOL I truly like DWO. I just have a lot more optimism for them in the future. I wish I was someone that could advise them, as I said before, I got alot of ideas! But, then again, a know all of us do. Maybe they should have a round table discussion with their fans before their next album and they can throw out some suggestions?

Eee! That's my idea... I was going to prepare a roundtable/interview with people associated or informed about Dru Hill and disucss how Dru Hill is performing in the industry, what they should do with the next album, how to gain some extra respect, get to number one on the charts, etc. Possible people involved: - Amy [DHW Webmaster] - Other DH Webmaster [DHL? Bwaha] - Jef Damz [Team Def Soul] - Universal Music Representative - Various Well-Respected People - Dru Net Executive Staff Its most likely going to be a single interview with each person (there's like a .01% of holding a roundtable with everyone to chat and discuss these issues). There will be about 10 or 15 questions which everyone will answer (so you can see ALL the different perspectives) as well as 2 or 3 individual questions concerning their particular field... ...
