HAS IVERSON ARRIVED? Hip-Hop's all-star baller is proud to be an Olympian.
Allen Iverson has been to the NBA finals, led the league in scoring and has been named MVP. Like Rodney Dangerfield, the man seems to get no respect. But, with him being named to the USA Basketball team things may be about to change.
On Sunday, Iverson sported a U.S. flag do-rag and proudly wore a white hospital band on his left wrist in honor of his new son, Isaiah Rahsaan, who was born Friday morning.
"It just makes me feel good to come from where I've been in my career," said Iverson, who said he slept in the hospital room with his wife, Tawanna, and their new son.
"Coming from a guy that was said to be selfish on the basketball court and didn't really know how to play the game, to becoming an MVP, to becoming someone on the first-team All-NBA, to becoming someone that can make it to the Finals, to becoming someone that's on the Olympic team. That means everything to me," Iverson told reporters.
"That's probably why I get the attention, because in a lot of people's eyes, I'm not supposed to be here. Talent-wise, people look at it like, 'Yeah, he's supposed to be here.' But personality-wise and who I am as a person, people don't think so. I'm fighting everyday to become the best person I can. Some people are going to believe I'm a good person and some aren't. All I care about are the people that care about me and that think I am a good person."
Well, it's good to know that at least he has a sunny disposition about himself.

I more than agree with the fact that A.I. still hasn't gotten the props that he deserves which is what I think my pops and I always seem to talk the most as far as his skills are concerned.
And yeah, he has somewhat of a bad boy image, but then who in the NBA doesn't? (Maybe I should leave that last comment alone). But anyway, at least he's strivin' to be a betta person! I ain't mad at'cha, boy! And good luck in representin' our country to the fullest in the Olympics. I have faith that like "The Waterboy" you can do it!!!!! ;D
