"The Coldest Winter Ever" Screenplay

Move over Halle Berry!!! Beyonce is poised to take on the daunting role of a femme fatale by the name of Winter in the upcoming production "The Coldest Winter Ever". The movie is based on the semi-autobiographical book of the same name by controversial hip hop activist Sista Souljah. The book narrates the story of Winter, a Latino druglord's daughter and girlfriend of another drug dealer. Singer Beyonce says, "This role is close to my heart, beacuse my mother (Destiny's Child stylist, Tina Knowles) went through a lot of the same, um, problems as Winter did when she was confronting the fact that my dad is one of Houston's biggest undercover drug czars." Producer John Cokenoses was recruited by actors Will and Jada Smith, who own the production rights to the underground best seller.

Now this is one of THE best books in my possession (I've read it twice!) and I'm disappointed to see that Beyonce' of all people will be playin' the role of Winter! She doesn't EVEN fit the description. I was picturin' someone like Lisa Raye, Nia Long, Meagan Good, or Gabrielle Union starring in this role. You know, real actresses. Beyonce' was only okay in "Carmen" but she can't hold it down like these girls can!

It's been a while since I read that book, it was good!
But, I don't remember how the character was described. If you can remember let me know.
I think the reason Beyonce' is being considered is because she is young, but I can see Meagan Good possibly in that role.

Winter's character was described as very fly with long, silky hair and she was well-shaped and was a tough girl with much attitude. And yeah, the more I think about it, the more I feel like Meagan Good really could pull this role off although Lisa Raye could pull it off too since she doesn't look like her "real" age and she has these same qualities.

Or maybe they could have let it go somethin' like this...let Kyla Pratt from "One on One" play Winter durin' the pre-teen/teen years and Meagan Good or Lisa Raye play Winter durin' her late teen/early adult years. Juss anybody but Beyonce'! Sorry but I had to vent with my last comment!

I've never read this book but from the description of the main character, Lisa Raye would really fit that perfectly. I like her, she jus got this yea Imma badass kinda attitude, ya kno!
