Man Killed When Hair Gets Caught In Roller Coaster

LANGLEY, Wash. -- The owner of an amusement park ride has been killed in a Washington state roller coaster accident after his hair got caught in the equipment.

He was spraying lubricant on the tracks of the Super Loop Two while the ride was in progress at the Island County Fair, about 30 miles northwest of Seattle.

His long hair was caught in a passing car full of fairgoers -- and he was pulled as high as 40 feet off the ground before falling on top of a temporary fence.

Island County Sheriff's spokeswoman Jan Smith said hundreds of people witnessed the accident. She said the victim was "basically scalped" by the ride.

McKay was co-owner of Paradise Amusements, based in Post Falls, Idaho, which had set up rides at the fair for the past three years.

I heard about this on Tom Joyner's Morning Show this morning and couldn't believe it!

If I had witnessed this, I'm sure it'd bother me for a long time to come. Whoa!!!

I hate that he prolly had to suffer, but I now undastnad why some jobs have strict dress codes for their employees and now i will never complain because I see now that the reason they do this is for our own protection. I just wondered how they would explain this to his family

I heard about it on the news when I was going out somewhere...and I was like..."OMG!" For all the people with long hair, you all know now, not to keep ur hair really long...always cut at least a few inches...or a foot of it as long as u don't start losing all that hair and looking all bald!
