Ohio City Official Fears Violence At Rap Concert
Is 50 Cent hazardous to the health of his fans? That's what a city official in Ohio fears -- with the rap star scheduled to perform on April 23.
The city manager of Oxford wants Miami University of Ohio to cancel the concert because she thinks it could be a "public safety nightmare."
Jane Howington is concerned violence could occur if fans come from other cities -- and find no tickets available.
The concert is sold out. People can only get tickets if they have a school identification card. 50 Cent will perform at Millett Hall, the arena at the university -- which is located northwest of Cincinnati.
A campus police lieutenant said he has spoken with security personnel and police at locations where
50 Cent has performed in the past month -- and found little evidence that fans of the rap star are prone to violence.
I don't blame Ohio's city manager for feeling this way. I mean, c'mon...50 talks a lil' too much about bein' shot 9 times and then went out and actually bought his 6-year-old a bullet-proof vest! It's true that back before all of this unnecessary foolishness started escalating between him and other artists, I was really feelin' (and lustin' for ) him, but after hearing about it too much and after buying his CD (which I'm using as a coaster now), all of his songs were basically about the same thing (except "21 Questions"). So don't get mad, 50, if they do end up cancelling yo' show because it'll prove that you're gangsta and not a wanksta!
